Form and Function Together

Setting a modern woven rattan lantern on a coffee table or hanging its dimmed glow from a beam means choosing an object made as much for use as for the eye. The rattan is worked by hand in regular slats, forming an openwork frame that spreads a soft light without ever smothering it. Its airy structure plays with light sources and casts changing reflections as the hours pass. Sober in line, solid in construction, it goes with a contemporary interior as well as a covered patio through the seasons.

Woven Rattan Made to Last

Setting a modern woven rattan lantern on a patio or moving it from room to room with the seasons is where the strength of its construction really matters. The braided rope handle is not a decorative detail: it takes repeated handling and keeps the structure stable over time. The rattan, worked in tight braids, keeps its hold through everyday use, indoors as well as on a covered patio. You invest in a piece made to go through the years without losing its shape or its presence.

Soft Light for Your Evenings

When the light fades and your guests settle around the table, a modern woven rattan lantern sets an atmosphere nothing else quite reproduces. The tight weave of plant fiber filters the flame or the LED candle and casts shadow play on the walls that instantly warms the mood. Each lantern is worked by hand, which gives its silhouette a slight singularity, typical of pieces made without molds or uniform series. Hung on a covered patio or set on a side table, it brings a warm, natural glow to every evening.

Frequently asked questions

How big is the lantern?

It measures 8.7 x 7.9 in (22 x 20 cm), a compact size for a coffee table, a shelf, a nightstand or a row of lanterns along a patio.

What light can I put inside?

A battery LED candle is the safest choice. A tealight in a glass holder also works if you never leave it unattended and keep the flame away from the weave.

Can it stay outside?

It is best on a covered patio or porch. Bring it inside in rain, since natural rattan and wood last longest away from prolonged humidity.

How do I clean it?

Switch it off and let the bulb cool. Dust the woven lantern with a soft brush or the brush attachment of your vacuum, then wipe with a barely damp cloth if needed. Never soak natural fibers.
