Light and Practical Every Day

Set on a counter or placed on a shelf, the round rattan bowl basket meets real needs without ever weighing down your home. Its well judged size holds fruit, mail or small everyday objects while staying easy to pick up and move. The natural tone of hand woven rattan pairs with light wood, cotton or raw ceramics, and the patterned lining adds a cheerful retro touch. Simple in shape, it organizes a space without crowding it, and finds its place in the kitchen as well as the living room or bedroom.

Woven Rattan in Your Daily Gestures

Setting bread, fruit or a few balls of yarn in a hand woven round rattan basket means choosing a container that adds to the atmosphere of a room as much as it serves it. The slight variations in the weave, inherent to handwork, form a lively relief no molded piece can reproduce. The rattan, split and shaped without industrial tools, keeps a natural suppleness that lets it absorb repeated use without warping. Retro in silhouette, this basket fits a wooden kitchen as well as an open shelf, discreetly carrying the imprint of the human hand that made it.

A Basket That Welcomes Everything

On a sideboard, a serving cart or the edge of a counter, the round retro rattan basket naturally finds its place wherever everyday things are set down. Seasonal fruit, morning bread, mail to sort or things to put away: its wide hand woven base holds as well as its retro silhouette decorates. Once woven in regular circles, rattan gains a strength and flexibility few materials can claim. Use it as a discreet catchall in an entryway, a paper basket in an office, or simply as a serving piece you are proud to leave on display.

Frequently asked questions

Which size should I choose?

S (7.1 in) suits keys, jewelry or a few snacks, M (8.7 in) a bread basket for two, and L (9.8 in) a fruit bowl or a bread basket for the family table.

What is the lining for?

The patterned fabric lining protects food from the weave, keeps crumbs from slipping through and adds a warm retro touch. Shake it out and spot clean it when needed.

What is the difference between rattan and wicker?

Rattan is a material: a climbing palm with strong, flexible stems. Wicker is a weaving technique that can use rattan, willow, bamboo or synthetic fibers. This basket is woven from natural rattan.

How do I clean a rattan basket?

Remove dust with a soft brush or the brush attachment of your vacuum, then wipe with a slightly damp cloth and let it air dry. Avoid soaking it or leaving it in direct sun for long periods.
