A Bucket with Two Uses

Set at the foot of a sofa or slipped under a bathroom cabinet, a round woven rattan storage bucket soon shows its versatility: it holds a plant pot as well as a stock of towels or stray toys. Each piece is shaped by hand with a tight weave that gives the wall lasting stiffness without weighing down the silhouette. The natural rattan tone suits light palettes as well as darker interiors. With time, the material takes on a light patina, giving the bucket a character mass produced objects never reach.

Woven Rattan at the Heart of the Home

Set on a living room floor or tucked into a bathroom corner, a round woven rattan storage bucket structures the space without weighing it down. The rattan strands are woven by hand in a regular pattern that gives the basket its typical relief, one you feel as much with the eye as with the fingertips. Its capacity takes rolled throws as well as bath towels, toys or magazines, depending on where you place it. The tight, even weave shows careful work that gives the piece lasting strength, well beyond the decorative effect.

Storage That Dresses the Room

Set on a living room floor or slipped into a bedroom corner, a round woven rattan storage bucket does much more than hold things: it structures the space and gives it character. Rattan has that rare quality of pairing visual presence with discretion, without ever weighing down a room. Each strand woven by hand forms a living, slightly irregular surface that recalls the patient work of a workshop. With time, the fiber takes on a golden patina that further strengthens the natural soul of woven rattan, a material that ages gracefully in a contemporary interior as well as a more classic decor.

Frequently asked questions

Which size should I choose?

S measures about 7.9 x 7.9 in (20 x 20 cm), good for brushes, rolled washcloths or a small plant. M measures about 11.8 x 10.2 in (30 x 26 cm), for towels, a throw or a larger pot.

Can I use it as a planter?

Yes, as a cover for a potted plant. Keep the plant in a pot with a saucer inside, since water would stain and weaken the rattan.

Can I use it as a wastebasket?

Yes, it works well as a small wastebasket in a bedroom, an office or a bathroom. A liner bag keeps the weave clean.

How do I care for it?

Dust it with a soft brush and wipe it with a barely damp cloth if needed. Do not soak it, and let it dry in the open air away from direct heat.
