Tight Weave, Green Rim

Set on a sideboard, slid under a console or placed on a shelf, a woven basket with a green rim like this one immediately shows the quality of handwork: each strand follows a precise path, without slack, to form a dense wall that lasts. The bold green border underlines the rounded outline with a confident gesture, creating a clear contrast with the natural tone of the raw rattan. The structure stays light, which lets it adapt to uses as varied as storage, display or simply dressing a space. An object made to last as much as to please.

Color and Material in Dialogue

See how a band of color is enough to turn a simple volume into an object with character: that is exactly the idea behind this modern woven cylinder basket. The colored rim cuts across the natural beige of the woven fibers, creating visual breathing room rather than a forced contrast. The weaving, done by hand, gives this meeting of color and material a slight irregularity that is the signature of handmade work. The result is a rattan basket that fits into a home without trying to stand out, with a presence that feels just right.

A Generous Material With Many Uses

From everyday storage to objects you set out just for the pleasure of seeing them, the woven cylinder basket with a green rim goes with every corner of the house with a discreet, honest presence. Its hand woven structure gives it a strength that stands up to regular use, without the material losing its suppleness or characteristic grain. Rattan ages well, develops a patina and suits a pared back interior as well as a room full of textures. Choosing a hand woven rattan basket means choosing an object made to last and to be truly used.

Frequently asked questions

How big is the green rim basket?

It measures 10.8 in (27.5 cm) across and 10.2 in (26 cm) high. It fits a medium plant pot, a roll of towels, yarn, toys or magazines.

Can I use it as a plant pot cover?

Yes. Place your potted plant inside with a saucer or a plastic liner under it, so watering never soaks the rattan.

What is the difference between rattan and wicker?

Rattan is a material: a climbing palm with strong, flexible stems. Wicker is a weaving technique that can use rattan, willow, bamboo or synthetic fibers. This basket is woven from natural rattan.

How do I clean a rattan basket?

Remove dust with a soft brush or the brush attachment of your vacuum, then wipe with a slightly damp cloth and let it air dry. Avoid soaking it or leaving it in direct sun for long periods.
