Woven Rattan, Wabi Sabi Spirit

Rattan, a living material in honey tones, shows all its richness here in a shape inspired by Japanese aesthetics: simplicity, balance, quiet presence. The woven rattan drum pendant combines the suppleness of natural rattan, the strength of wood and the lightness of bamboo in a composition that breathes without ever imposing itself. Each slat is placed by hand to create the play of filtered light and shadow so typical of Zen interiors. Hung above a table or in a reading corner, it structures the space without cluttering it. A piece with careful construction, designed to last and age gracefully.

Filtered Light, Open Weave

When night falls and you switch on your light, the open rattan weave comes into play: the crossed strands cut the light into moving patterns projected on your walls and ceiling. It is this quality of diffusion, neither too bright nor too dim, that makes the vintage rattan drum pendant a piece you live with as much as a decorative object. Each stem is placed by hand to leave regular gaps, ensuring a consistent light that is never harsh. Hung above a table or in a hallway, it turns the light source into a structured play of shadows, rooted in raw plant material.

A Light That Wraps Around You

When night falls, the vintage rattan drum pendant spreads a dimmed glow that turns an ordinary room into a true space to unwind. The hand weave creates a play of shadows on the walls, giving each evening a calm, warm atmosphere. Available in natural beige or black, this woven rattan pendant light suits a boho interior as well as a more pared back decor, without ever overdoing it. The natural fibers breathe, age gracefully and keep their color for a long time. Each piece is worked by hand, so your home is filled with a calm that industrial materials cannot offer.

Frequently asked questions

How big is the rattan drum pendant?

It measures 13.8 in (35 cm) wide and 9.8 in (25 cm) high. It suits a bedside, a small dining table, a hallway or a row of two or three above a kitchen island.

Which color should I choose?

Natural beige is soft and blends with light wood and white walls. Black gives a more graphic, modern look and stands out against light ceilings.

What bulb should I use?

It takes a standard screw base bulb. The bulb is not included. It is rated for 90 to 260V, so it runs on standard US 120V current. Choose an LED bulb, which stays cool next to natural fibers, and a warm white around 2700K for a cozy glow.

How high should I hang a pendant light over a table?

Leave about 30 to 36 in between the tabletop and the bottom of the shade. Over a walkway or in an entryway, keep at least 7 ft of clearance from the floor.

How do I clean a rattan shade?

Switch the light off and let the bulb cool. Dust the shade with a soft brush or the brush attachment of your vacuum, then wipe with a slightly damp cloth if needed. Never soak natural fibers.
