Woven Cane for Your Projects

Working with a natural rattan cane webbing roll means choosing a living material whose ribbed texture you can read with the naked eye. Each crossing of strands shows the patient work of weaving, with tension and pattern kept even row after row. The open weave breathes, softens with handling and gains character over time. Sober and sturdy, this webbing suits a chair seat as well as a cabinet door, a headboard or a lamp shade, wherever you want to bring a raw natural material into your home.

Cane Woven in a Classic Pattern

Each row of cane follows the one before with a regularity that gives the webbing its strength: the classic open weave, with its crossing strands and small octagonal openings, is the pattern found on vintage cane chairs. It is this row by row construction that gives the natural rattan cane webbing a surface that is both firm and supple. The woven pattern, even without being mechanical, shows slight variations in tone typical of raw plant material. Using this cane webbing on a chair, a sideboard or a room divider brings a lively texture the eye recognizes at once.

A Material for Countless Projects

Fitted into a cabinet door or stretched across a chair frame, natural rattan cane webbing brings a discreet, warm presence few materials can offer. Soaked briefly in warm water, it becomes supple enough to fit a groove or a frame, then tightens as it dries for a taut, clean finish. Each strand forms a regular interlacing that holds its shape over time. Through the seasons, woven cane gains a golden patina and settles into your decor, whether contemporary, wabi sabi or more classic.
