When Rattan Catches the Light

Hung above a table or a sofa, a hand woven light transforms the way light lives in a room: it filters, breaks up and plays with the weave. This vintage rattan beehive pendant is shaped by hand in a precise pattern, where each crossing of stems reveals a new shadow once switched on. The included LED bulb spreads a soft light without excess heat, gentle on the natural fibers. The hanging height is fully adjustable, so you can position the light exactly for your ceiling height and room layout. An object designed to last, which ages gracefully.

Woven Rattan, Dimmed Light

Look up at this light and you will immediately understand what a rattan weave can do to light: filter it, break it up, give it character. Each strand wound by hand creates a pattern that spreads a soft halo, without glare, perfect for a calm atmosphere at the end of the day. The rattan beehive pendant light fits above a dining table as well as in a bedroom where you want ambient light rather than purely functional lighting. The LED bulb uses much less energy than a traditional one, without sacrificing any warmth. A useful object, built to last, whose hand woven natural rattan structure gains presence over the years.

Rattan Through the Light

Made from dried vines worked by hand, rattan has the rare ability to absorb and spread light in a soft, almost living way. Your vintage rattan pendant light does more than light a room: it lends it character and a warmth synthetic materials cannot imitate. The weave, carefully made on each frame, lets the halo through and draws fine shadows on the walls and ceiling. It is this breathing of the material that makes each home different, whether contemporary, boho or more pared back. Hand woven rattan adapts with a discretion few natural materials can offer.

Frequently asked questions

Which size beehive pendant should I choose?

S (13.8 in) suits a bedside or a hallway, M (15.7 in) a bedroom, L (19.7 in) a dining table for four, and XL (23.6 in) a table for six or a living room.

Warm white or cool white?

Warm white gives a cozy, golden glow that suits living rooms and bedrooms. Cool white is crisper and brighter, better for a kitchen or a workspace. The matching LED bulb is included.

What bulb should I use?

It takes an E27 base bulb. A bulb is included. It is rated for 90 to 260V, so it runs on standard US 120V current. Choose an LED bulb, which stays cool next to natural fibers, and a warm white around 2700K for a cozy glow.

How high should I hang a pendant light over a table?

Leave about 30 to 36 in between the tabletop and the bottom of the shade. Over a walkway or in an entryway, keep at least 7 ft of clearance from the floor.

How do I clean a rattan shade?

Switch the light off and let the bulb cool. Dust the shade with a soft brush or the brush attachment of your vacuum, then wipe with a slightly damp cloth if needed. Never soak natural fibers.
