Seagrass That Lasts

Setting down a glass, laying a plate, repeating the gesture every evening: a placemat deserves to hold up over time without losing its hold. Harvested and dried before being woven by hand, seagrass fiber offers a natural strength daily use does not wear down. The rectangular woven seagrass placemat keeps its shape and golden beige color well beyond its first seasons. Its lightly textured surface cushions knocks and protects your table, while its rectangular size suits Tuesday place settings as well as Sunday family meals.

A Format for Every Table

Rectangular and generous, this format covers the space needed to protect your tabletop or tablecloth, whether you set an everyday table or a festive place setting. The rectangular woven seagrass placemat stands out with its flat woven weft, which handles small splashes well. A simple damp sponge brings it back to shape between services. Supple without being fragile, it suits large gatherings as well as a solo breakfast, without ever weighing down the setting.

A Placemat That Dresses Your Table

Set on a raw wood table or a linen tablecloth, a rectangular woven seagrass placemat immediately changes the mood of a meal. Seagrass, woven flat in even strips, brings the natural texture neither plastic nor vinyl can imitate. Each placemat protects your surface while anchoring the table in a sober, organic decor. The rectangular format suits most flat or soup plates, without overhanging or running short. Over time, the fiber takes on a light patina and gains character.

Frequently asked questions

How big is the placemat?

It measures 17.7 x 11.8 in (45 x 30 cm), a standard size that holds a dinner plate, cutlery and a glass.

How many should I order?

It is sold by the piece, so order one per guest. Mixing two or three styles in the same tones makes a relaxed, layered table.

Can I put a hot dish on it?

Warm plates are fine. For a pot straight off the stove or out of the oven, add a trivet so the natural fibers are never exposed to high heat.

How do I clean it?

Brush off crumbs, then wipe with a damp cloth and a drop of mild soap. Let it dry flat, away from direct heat. Do not soak it or put it in the dishwasher.
